What is a Presearch Node and Why Run One?
A Presearch node is a computer (often times a Virtual Private Server or VPS) contributing computing power to perform searches for the Presearch network. People run Presearch nodes to earn rewards, support the decentralized mission, and/or to utilize idle resources. Node staking balances two key existing roles with additional indexing and crawling nodes to roll out in the first half of 2025:
- Capacity: Having the ability to handle search-related tasks when needed,
- Utilization: Successfully performing the assigned tasks.
There are tens of thousands of Presearch nodes. The total number of active nodes can be found here, updated every 24 hours.
While this article refers to the current “Search Nodes,” we’re excited to announce that in Q1/Q2 2025, we’ll be launching additional specialty nodes for indexing, crawling, validating, and more as we begin building the proprietary Presearch decentralized search engine.

When the price is below $0.07, the system maintains a fixed USD value for rewards, and PRE emissions remain unchanged because the calculation always assumes a price of $0.07, regardless of the actual market value.
· Stability and Sustainability: This design prevents excessive token supply dilution and a collapse in operator incentives, aligning operator rewards with the network’s growth.
· Encouraging Commitment: Operators benefit from steady rewards, regardless of market fluctuations fostering long-term participation as PRE’s value increases.
